WHY SHOULD YOU SUPPORT TIGRAY AMERICAN IMPACT FUND (TAIF)

As you may know the People of Tigray have been subjected to different levels of human right violations within the past 3 years including complete siege that started in 2018 and is still going on, Ethnic identity base extrajudicial killings, massacre, identity-based torture, imprisonment in filthy concentration camps, air drone bombardment, starvation used as a weapon, man-made famine aiming to wipe out the Tigray population by starvation, banking services and telecommunication blockade. This has been revealed to the international community using different media outlets. However, the international community response has been lagging. Tigray American Impact Fund will play a role in trying to resolve the crisis by bringing it to light via advocacy and lobbying to end this ongoing horrific humanitarian crisis of the 21st century by collaborating with US elected officials, US based international entities to help ascertain peace and democratic process in Tigray/Ethiopia. TAIF will also engage in supporting US Politicians running for office that understand support any cause related to the Tigrayan American communities. Further TAIF as part of the international community will collaborate with other communities to help the democratic political process, we enjoy in the USA transpire in our respective countries.

TAIF will play an important role in the political process back home in Tigray, helping to ensure that the voices of different stakeholders are heard and taken into account when it comes to decision making. It will assist in facilitating a process that bridges the divide between political leaders and Tigrayan US citizens, providing each with a better understanding of the issues at hand. This understanding can then be used to inform the policies that are created and implemented.

TAIF will engage US citizen/ European knowledgeable experts of Tigray origin who are well-versed in the laws and regulations that govern their industry or issue area. TAIF will facilitate for Tigray elites in the diaspora to apply their knowledge to influence policy makers by presenting research and data, developing relationships with key stakeholders to advocating for the policies Tigray Communities would like to see enacted.
